This is the official Misha the bear sports bag from the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
Size: Approximately 30 cm in height, 50 cm in width.
It is brand new and unused, but please purchase only if you can accept that it has been stored at home!

◎ Moscow Olympics
The 22nd Summer Olympics were held in 1980 at Lenin Stadium in Moscow, Soviet Union. This was the first time the Olympics were held in a communist country after World War II.

Amidst the Cold War between Western and Eastern blocs, the Soviet Union, as the leading Eastern country, hosted this event. In December 1979, the United States proposed a boycott to Western countries in protest against the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, leading to a collective boycott by many countries, including Japan, just two months before the opening ceremony.

The 178 Japanese athletes who had been training for four years were unfortunately unable to participate just before the event, leading to tears and raising questions about the relationship between sports and politics.

◎ About Misha the Bear
Misha the Bear is the mascot character of the 1980 Moscow Olympics. It was designed by children’s book author Viktor Chizhikov. At the closing ceremony of the Moscow Olympics, a gigantic Misha doll holding balloons appeared in the stadium, and at the end of the ceremony, Misha was released into the sky, floating away from the stadium, which left a lasting impression.
