This listing is for a Vintage1750 NY Penny. Coin is in a NGC slab and has been verified to be genuine. Add this coin to your collection.

Here is alittle about the history of this coin:

The "First New York Penny" refers to the Dutch copper Duit, minted between 1726 and 1794 by the Dutch East India Company (VOC) for use in their colonies, including New Amsterdam (later New York). These coins circulated in the New World due to a lack of a national mint.

Origin: Struck in Holland, these coins were brought to the New World by the Dutch West India Company.

Appearance: Features the "VOC" monogram on one side (representing the Dutch East India Company) and the coat of arms of the specific Dutch province where it was struck on the reverse.

Usage: Used for commerce in company stores and towns; they remained in circulation even after the British took control of the region.
