This is an incredibly rare find for collectors of vintage ephemera and lithography. This 5x4 inch print of Venice is not a standard retail copy. It is a Gallery Proof (GP) from the renowned Goes Lithographing Company
Why it’s Rare:
The reverse side is Marked "GP2670 1/2". This identifies it as the first of only two proofs ever pulled for this specific plate. Gallery proofs were created in extremely limited quantities for the publisher's internal archives or as "hard proofs" to ensure color accuracy before a production run. Most were destroyed or kept in-house; very few ever reached the public.
